The Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Pathfinder Anti-Crude Oil Theft Team has discovered about 10,000 litres of suspected stolen crude oil at Okumanga community in the Isaka area of Rivers State.
The discovery, made on Saturday, 4 October 2025, was part of Operation DELTA SANITY II, a sustained effort by the Nigerian Navy to combat crude oil theft and other maritime crimes in the Niger Delta region.
According to naval sources, the illicit product was concealed in two 1,000-litre tanks, one drum, 30 jerricans, and 80 sacks, all hidden within the community.
The Navy has since commenced investigations to identify the perpetrators and dismantle the network behind the illegal activity.
Operation DELTA SANITY II continues to record significant progress in curbing crude oil theft and safeguarding national economic assets across the region.
