ABUJA – The Nigerian National Assembly has approved the 2025 Federal Government budget of N54.99 trillion ($36.6 billion), following a revision from the initial estimate of N54.2 trillion submitted by President Bola Tinubu last week.
The increase was attributed to anticipated additional revenues from tax collections, customs, and other government agencies. Lawmakers exercised their legislative authority to adjust the budget before passing the appropriation bill.
The approved budget will now be forwarded to President Tinubu for his assent, in line with constitutional procedures.
