The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), has apologised to Nigerians over the ongoing strike action by Resident Doctors.
Chairman of Abuja chapter of the NMA, Enema Amodu in an official statement today, said doctors are not insensitive to the plights of Nigerians but insisted that the strike must go on.
He noted that doctors and healthcare workers need to be properly taken of, in order to enable them meet the needs and demands of patients.
“To our patients, we are very sorry that you have to suffer this epileptic irregular healthcare service delivery; we have taken an oath to take care of you,” he said.
“But if a doctor is not in a sound state of mind and is not happy with what he or she is getting from the job, the doctor may not be in the right frame of mind to discharge his or her duty right,” Amodu added.
