The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has declared Nigerian entertainer Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed Darlington, wanted over allegations of rape, cyberbullying, and cyberstalking.
In a statement posted Friday on its official Instagram handle, @officialnaptip, the agency called on members of the public with credible information about the suspect’s whereabouts to come forward. “Anyone with useful information on his location should contact NAPTIP via 07030000203 or email info@naptip.gov.ng,” the statement read.
NAPTIP’s decision follows Speed Darlington’s failure to respond to a formal summons issued by the agency after he appeared to admit, during a live Instagram broadcast, to having sexual relations with a 15-year-old girl—an act that constitutes statutory rape under Nigerian law.
The agency noted that despite efforts to engage the entertainer for questioning regarding the serious allegations, he has so far refused to cooperate.
Authorities say investigations are ongoing, and they are working with relevant law enforcement bodies to bring the suspect into custody.
