Manager of the illegal oil dump site that was raided by the Police at Abel Jumbo street in Diobu, Port Harcourt, yesterday, says they have license to deal on lubricants and engine oil.

Onyeama Ugochukwu, disclosed this in a chat with journalists after he was arrested by the police alongside three other suspects identified as: Ogbonna Emmanuel, Okiri Godbless and Okubo Ebi.

He said they buy oil mixed with water from tankers in Onne, put them in drums and hit for about 5 – 10 minutes for the water to dry up before they sell to retailers.

But, Spokesperson of the state Police Command, Nnamdi Omoni in a statement said the place is an illegal factory where petroleum products are manufactured, resulting in the production of lubricants.

He explained that the dump was raided after they received credible information.

Omoni, stated that the command is out to put an end to the menace, as he called on the public to report officers who aide such illegal activities.

He said some officers caught in the act have been the dealt with and that the command has zero tolerance for such the act.
