The United States chapter of the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO) has called for the resignation of Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd) as the sole administrator of Rivers State.
NADECO argued that President Bola Tinubu lacks the constitutional authority to suspend Governor Sim Fubara and appoint a sole administrator in his place.
Ibas was appointed after Tinubu declared a state of emergency in Rivers State and suspended Fubara for six months.
Speaking on the issue, NADECO US President Lloyd F. Ukwu claimed that Ibas would be accountable only to Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, rather than the people of Rivers State.
