The Peoples Democratic Presidential Campaign Council in Rivers State, says it is in support of a statement credited to Governor, Nyesom Wike that Rivers State is a Christian state and cannot support a Muslim-Muslim ticket.
Spokesperson for the council in the state, Dr Leloonu Nwibubasa, made this known at a stakeholders meeting in Khana LGA of the state at the weekend.
He described the APC Muslim/Muslim ticket as a disaster adding that Nigeria is a multi-ethnic and multi-religion nation.
He stated that anyone supporting or campaigning for such ticket does not mean well for the people of Rivers State.
He also said that the economy of Nigeria is in dire need of salvation and only a Presidency led by its Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has the capability to revamp the country’s economy.
According to him, the future of the country is in a comatose state and urged electorates to get it right by voting Atiku who have proven his credentials in his various public and private stations.
Dr. Nwibubasa urged supporters of Atiku in the state to go about their campaigns, door to doors, unit to units, ward to wards sensitization in a peaceful manner as it is their constitutional rights to campaign.
He assured the party’s presidential candidate that Rivers People are ‘Atikulated people’ and will vote massively for him in the forthcoming elections.
