A yet-to-be identified mother was Today arrested at the Mile 3 market in Port Harcourt for allegedly attempting to sell off her little child.
Spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command, Grace Koko in a statement said the woman was handed over to them by traders at the market.
According to her, investigation has commenced into the matter to ascertain what transpired.
Sources say the suspect was apprehended while negotiating with the buyers of the child. They attributed the incident to the current hunger and hardship in the country.
