Caretaker Committee Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, Chijioke Ihunwo has alleged that most of the people fuelling the political unrest in Rivers people are from his area.
Ihunwo, who made this known in a statement on Monday, said he feels sad about the development.
According to him, the fact that such persons have resorted to protests indicates that they have lost the battle.
He said, “In my capacity as the chairman of Obio Akpor local government, I feel sad that most of the people fueling the political crisis in Rivers state are from Obio Akpor.
“The fact that they have now resorted to protests indicates that they have lost the battle.
“I spoke during my meeting with elders in Obio/Akpor on Monday.
“I took the visit to the state commissioner for power, Hon. Prince Solomon Eke and a pioneer commissioner for budget and economic planning, Mike Enwukwe at their residence.
“I thanked the two politicians for their loyalty and commitment to Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
