A prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has claimed that more Nigerians have taken their own lives under President Bola Tinubu’s administration than at any other time in the country’s history.
In a statement issued Tuesday, Eze described the prevailing hunger and economic hardship across the country as unprecedented, citing a recent remark by former Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, who reportedly said he was hungry. Eze said Amaechi’s comment underscores the deepening hardship affecting millions of Nigerians.
He called on President Tinubu and his aides to address what he described as “bizarre suffering, hunger and starvation,” warning that these conditions risk becoming the defining legacy of the current administration.
Eze also accused the federal government of suppressing dissent and attempting to silence critics, including members of the media who spotlight what he called the administration’s “monumental failures.”
