The Mining and Geosciences Society of Nigeria, has promised to investigate the cause of soot in Port Harcourt and other parts of the State.
Charlesye Charles, National President of the Association,made this known in a statement in Port Harcourt.
The society said empirical studies would be carried out by researchers, so as to come up with appropriate solutions that will put an end to the soot.
This is coming as the group prepares for its national conference in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
“I believe that by the time we have the conference here and researchers have gone into field to do imperial study, they will be able to tell the nation what the problem about this soot and the way to go about solving it.”
“We have heard stories about military burning petroleum products. We have also heard stories about incomplete combustion in the refineries,” he said.
