The executive chairman of Opobo Nkoro local government Area, Rt. Hon(Dr) Enyiada Cookey-gam has distanced himself from the report of a suit by the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, ALGON, Rivers State Chapter, against the immediate promotion and implementation of thirty thousand naira minimum wage for local government workers in the state.
Cookey-gam in a statement today, he was not a part of those seeking to challenge the decision of the state government.
He, however doubted the authenticity of the report adding that he would always align himself with the policies of the state government aimed at putting smiles on the faces of the local government workers.
Dr ENYIADA COOKEY-GAM hailed Governor FUBARA for his practical show of love as exemplified in the increase in pay for civil servants in the face of the present economic hardship.
He said Opobo/Nkoro LGA under his watch would implement to the letter every policy of the state that would better the welfare of the local government employees.
