Barcelona’s skipper, Lionel Messi has won his seventh La Liga golden boot and his fourth in a row after a performance which saw him scoring twice as Barcelona demolished Alaves 5 – 0, on Sunday.
This will be the first time in 12 years La Liga’s top scorer will be winning the Pichichi title scoring fewer than 30 goals. The last person being Daniel Guiza of Real Mallorca.
The six-time Ballon d’Or winner finished the season with 25 goals, four clear of second placed Karim Benzema of Real Madrid.
Messi rounded the keeper to score his second of the night in a 5 – 0 win over Alaves with Ansu Fati, Luis Suarez and Nelson Semedo scoring the other goals of the night.
Barca’s rival Real Madrid, had won the title on Thursday, having last won the La Liga title in 2017.
