Argentine forward Lionel Messi this morning missed a spot kick in the penalty shootout against Ecuador in the quarter final tie of the ongoing Copa America tournament.
This comes days after Christian Ronaldo missed a penalty in the round of 16 tie between Portugal and Slovenia in regulation time in the ongoing Euro 2024.
However, despite Messi’s miss Argentina progressed to the semi finals of the tournament 4-2 after Martinez saved two spot kicks following a 1-1 draw in regulation time.
Argentina will now face either Venezuela or Canada.
