Businessman and politician, Senator Ned Nwoko, has stirred conversations after declaring that men who marry only one wife deserve pity, arguing that polygamy offers men greater stability and balance.
Speaking during an interview on Sunday, Nwoko, who is married to four wives, said his stance is based on personal conviction and life experience.
When asked how he manages multiple marriages—something many men find challenging—the senator hesitated briefly before responding.
“That is a different topic for discussion on another day. Yes, every man should do that,” he said. “The example I give is this: just imagine telling you to stand on one foot or leg. You know how difficult it is. But to stand on two, three, four is much more balanced. That’s just the example I give. So I feel sorry for those who have one wife because it’s difficult to stand on one leg.”
Nwoko, who represents Delta North Senatorial District, is known for his outspoken views on family and traditional values, often defending polygamy as both culturally rooted and beneficial for responsible men.
