The Mayor of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, Hon. Allwell Ihunda has donated four security vehicles to the Rivers State Police Command, and two electric power transformers to two communities and a church.
The vehicles were today handed over to the Command by Acting Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party in the state – Hon. Chukwuemeka Aaron.
Speaking during the presentation ceremony, Sir Ihunda said the motive behind the gesture is to enhance security of lives and properties in the Local Government Area by ensuring that the Police Commands do not lack vehicles to respond to distress calls.
In the same vein, he said the electric power transformers acquired for the communities are also to enhance security in the LGA. Criminals operate easier where there’s no light, hence the need for the power transformers to the affected communities and the Church, he stated.
