A man was yesterday afternoon arrested for being in possession of counterfeit redesigned naira notes at Mile 3 market in Diobu Port Harcourt Today.
A woman who sells at the market in a chat with us said two men stormed the market yesterday and started spending lavishly before one of the sellers identified the fake notes and raised an alarm.
She said one of the suspects escaped while the other was caught by traders in the market.
The woman stated that the man was beaten to stupor, and handed over to the Police who also confirmed that the notes were fake.
She explained that the man confessed to printing the fake notes in Aba and pleaded for forgiveness before he was taken away by the Police.
