The Police in Rivers State has arrested a 34-year-old man for allegedly defiling his girlfriend’s nine-year-old niece.
The victim, identified as Preye, was arrested after the little girl confessed to her sister that the man first molested her four years ago.
Tonten Boma, one of the uncles of the little girl in a chat with journalists said the man first did it in September 2019 when he came to the house to look for his girlfriend.
He said when the man found out that the girlfriend was not around, he grabbed the little girl; closed her mouth and made love to her.
Boma said, the suspect made the victim swear with a Calabash that she would die if anyone got to know about what was going on.
Boma also said they found out about the incident, after she confided in them.
This was after they persuaded her to know who was responsible for the expensive gifts and huge amount of money seen with her.
Meanwhile, stakeholders have called for thorough investigation into the matter.
We gathered that the suspect is currently been detained at the Ozuoba Police Station.
