The Police in Rivers State has arrested one Polycarp Uzoma in connection with child trafficking and murder in Ubima, Ikwerre Local Government Area of the state.

Spokesperson of the state Command, Grace Koko disclosed this in a statement on Monday.

According to her, the suspect lured a young lady identified as Queen Orlu into the bush, where he stabbed her to death and abducted her one-year-old baby boy which he sold for N1.4 million.

She said the baby has been rescued and is receiving treatment at an undisclosed medical facility.

She commended officers of the Ubima Division for the arrest of the suspect.
