The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a man, identified simply as Doctor, for allegedly stabbing his lover to death in Diobu, Port Harcourt.
The incident occurred on Okereke Street following a heated argument, after the suspect reportedly accused the victim of infidelity.
Police spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, who confirmed the development on Monday, said the Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) in Port Harcourt for a discreet investigation.
