The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom has reacted to claims from some quarters that he is responsibile for the attack on the residence of Sen. Lee Maeba.
Some supporters of Atiku Abubakar in the state had alleged that the governor ordered the chairman of Obio-Akpor local government area to carryout the attack.
However, speaking during the commissioning of the Okrika Founder’s Park in Okrika LGA, the governor denied masterminding the attack.
According to him, the statement by the state Commissioner of Police, Okon Effiong has vindicated him.
Okon had in a statement questioned why the exotic cars of the Senator were not parked in his compound during the attack, raising doubts over the authenticity of the attack.
He also denied claims that he refused to pick or return Lee Maeba’s calls while the attack lasted.
