The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, RSIEC, says it is irrevocably committed to conducting the most free, fair and credible local government elections the state has ever seen.
Commissioner in charge of Civic Education, Tamunotonye Tobins said this during a radio interview in Port Harcourt on Wednesday.
According to him, they will work with security agencies to ensure security is guaranteed during the polls.
He also said there will be no electronic transmission of results as it is enshrined in the law governing RSIEC. Tobins stated that results will be announced at the state secretariat of the commission.
