The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, RSIEC, has denied reports making the rounds that the state governor, Sim Fubara has released funds for the conduct of local government elections.
The body in a statement described the reports as “deliberate misconstrueing of facts by mischief makers.
It said the public will be notified as soon as the commission is ready to commence the election process.
The statement reads,
The attention of the Rivers state independent Electoral commission has been drawn to certain social media reports that the Executive governor of Rivers state His Excellency Sir Siminialayai Fubara (Gssrs) has given money for the LGA Elections.
“These are deliberate misconstrueing of facts by mischief makers and as such should be disregard.
“The general public will be dully notify as soon as RSIEC is ready to kick start the 2024 election process
