The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, RSIEC has denied owing any Adhoc Staff that participated in the Oct. 5th Local Government Elections.

Chairman of the Commission, Justice Adolphus Enebeli made this known in a statement on Friday.

This was in reaction to claims by some persons that they were yet to be paid after participating fully in the election.

Reacting, Enebeli said all 14,717 Adhoc staff that participated in the election across the 319 wards and 23 LGAs of the state have been duly paid.

He stated that those claiming not to have been paid were not enlisted for the exercise, and only forced themselves to the polling units believing they will get stipend.

Recall that about a hundred people few days ago called out RSIEC over failure to pay them for their services during the election, and threatened to embark on a protest if nothing was done urgently.
