The Labour party says plans are underway to sue the Governor of Rivers state, Sim Fubara at the expiration of the two weeks given to him to begin preparation for the conduct of local government elections in the state.
Factional National Organizing Secretary of the party, Favour Reuben disclosed this in a statement at the weekend.
According to him, the Labour party will challenge the refusal of the governor to conduct local government elections inline with the laws of the land.
Reuben also distanced the party from a suit filed by some individuals who claim to be member of the party against 27 defected members of the Rivers State House Assembly.
According to him, those behind the suit are criminals looking for money from the governor, adding that they are not members of the party.
He added that the Labour party cannot be represented by individuals who are not known by it.
