Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has urged Corps Members to leave enduring legacies that will stand the test of time in the host communities where they are posted.
Governor Fubara advised on Tuesday during the closing ceremony of the 2025 Batch C orientation course for Corps Members deployed to Rivers State, held at the NYSC permanent orientation camp in Nonwa-Gbam Tai.
Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Benibo Anabraba, Governor Fubara encouraged the Corps Members to “be patriotic and selfless in rendering quality services to the people of the State,” while assuring them of the government’s “love and hospitality.”
During the ceremony, Governor Fubara also announced immediate and comprehensive renovations of the camp facilities to provide Corps Members with a more conducive environment for their camping exercises as “elite youths and leaders of tomorrow.”
Earlier in his address, the State Coordinator of NYSC Rivers State, Mr Moses Oleghe, described the three-week camping exercise as hugely “impactful, fruitful, and rewarding” in the lives of the Corps Members. He noted that the exercise had enriched their experiences and redirected their consciousness towards “nationalistic ideals and values.”
He further charged the Corps Members to serve with “respect, commitment, and integrity” in their Places of Primary Assignment across the 23 Local Government Areas of the State.
