A leadership crisis has emerged within the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers State, with two members — Leader Samson and Odey Lawrence — both laying claim to the chairmanship of the party in the State.
While the party’s spokesperson, Luckyman Igali, dismissed any notion of division within the ADC, he insisted that Samson Leader remains the duly recognised Chairman, with Odey Lawrence serving as his Vice Chairman.
Igali explained that Lawrence only assumed leadership in an acting capacity due to internal matters within the party but did not replace Leader officially.
However, in a twist, Odey Lawrence maintained that he is the legitimate Chairman, alleging that Leader Samson and others had been expelled from the party.
