The Emeka Beke-led executive of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has issued a bold challenge to the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, and others questioning its legitimacy.
In a statement on Saturday, the faction declared it would resign en masse if Morka or his allies can produce any appellate court judgment overturning the ruling that nullified the congresses conducted under the leadership of APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, which favoured Tony Okocha.
“The Emeka Beke-led APC in Rivers State challenges Felix Morka and his likes to present any valid appellate court judgment setting aside the ruling that nullified the kangaroo congresses organized in favour of Tony Okocha,” the statement read. “If such a judgment exists, the Beke-led executive will not hesitate to resign from office.”
The declaration follows internal wrangling over the authentic leadership structure of the party in Rivers State and growing tensions between rival factions.
