The Accord Party in Rivers State, has described the lawsuit by the People’s Democratic Party against the party as a distraction.
Governorship candidate of the party, Dumo Lulu-Briggs said this in a statement after the court sitting in Port Harcourt, Today.
He stated that the PDP wants to disqualify all other candidates to pave way for its candidates to occupy all elective positions.
According to him, unfortunately for the party the positions are not based on appointments, as Rivers people must be allowed to choose their leaders.
He also said the move by the Rivers PDP shows that they do not have credible candidates capable of winning elections, and that Accord party must participate in next year’s election.
