Nigerians on Twitter have reacted to a report from The Cable, that Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed had moved to stop the Big Brother Naija Season 5 from airing.
The minister had urged the DG of the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Armstrong Idachaba to stop the show from airing, according to the report.
Following the concerns raised by the minister, the DG reached out to the organizers of the show who made all the safety measures they had put in place known to him. The DG, who was satisfied with the measures put in place, then allowed the show to air live.
Reacting to the development, some Twitter users supported the minister’s move while others criticised him for the call.
