The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Moshood Jimoh, has reportedly declared a activist Omoyele Sowore wanted for alleged “disturbance of public peace” following an incident in the Oworonsoki area on Monday.
According to the activist, the move stemmed from officers’ alleged inability to carry out a purported “shoot-on-sight” order issued by the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun — an order he described as “illegal.”
He said repeated efforts to reach Commissioner Jimoh by phone have been unsuccessful. However, he expressed readiness to meet with the Commissioner to address the declaration and resolve the matter.
Further details of the incident remain unclear, as police authorities have not issued an official statement on the matter.
