The Lagos State Government has initiated an investigation into the reported death of a Lagos socialite popularly known as Elena Jessica following a cosmetic surgery procedure.
Reports indicate that Elena allegedly died after undergoing a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) at a clinic within the state.
The investigation is being handled by the Health Facilities Monitoring and Accreditation Agency (HEFAMAA), the regulatory body responsible for supervising and accrediting health facilities across Lagos.
The agency’s Permanent Secretary, Abiola Idowu, disclosed this in a statement released on Thursday, March 12, 2026. According to her, the probe was triggered by social media reports alleging that the woman developed complications after the aesthetic surgery.
