The Lagos State Government has sealed the Ladipo Spare Parts Market located along the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Road on the Apapa–Oshodi Expressway due to repeated environmental violations.
The Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, disclosed the development on Sunday through a post on his official X account.
According to him, the enforcement action followed persistent cases of improper waste disposal on road medians and highways, as well as illegal street trading around the market area. He stated that the closure aligns with the state’s zero-tolerance stance on environmental abuse.
Authorities noted that the market has previously been shut down for similar infractions, warning traders and operators to comply with environmental regulations.
