The Nigeria Correctional Service has reacted to reports that Peter Nwachukwu, husband of late Gospel singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu escaped from the Kuje prison when it was attacked few days ago.
Public Relations Officer of the Correctional Service in Abuja, Humphrey Chukwuedo dismissed the reports in a statement on Tuesday.
According to him, Peter Nwachukwu who is standing trial over alleged homicide is still in custody, as he did not escape. He urged members of the public to ignore the reports.
There were reports making the rounds that Peter Nwachukwu was nowhere to be found in the facility after a search was conducted.
