The Rivers State Police Command, has said that it is investigating a Divisional Police Officer (DPO), who was accused of operating an illegal oil camp in Rivers State.
Acting Spokesperson of the command, DSP Grace Iringe-Koko in a statement yesterday, said a panel headed by an Assistant Commissioner of Police has been set up to investigate the matter.
She noted that the outcome of the investigation shall be made public and the officer will be punished appropriately if found guilty.
The DPO, was accused by Governor Nyesom Wike of operating an illegal oil refinery in Emouha Local Government Area of the state.
He had also directed the state commissioner of Police, Eboka Friday to send the accused out of the state.
