A lecturer at the Ken Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic, Bori in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State, James Fenwi who was kidnapped few days ago, has been released by his abductors.

Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities in Ken Poly, Prince Nwiyo disclosed this in a statement yesterday.

Nwiyo who stated that the lecturer was released unconditionally on Saturday, said the pressure mounted on security agencies to ensure his release, paid off.

He commended Governor Nyesom Wike and the state police command for their relentless efforts in ensuring Fenwi’s release.

“I want to thank the Rivers State Government for the pressure that they put on the security agencies. And the Commissioner of Police, especially the O.C Kidnapping who kept to his words to ensure that his men work assiduously to ensure the release of Mr. James Finwe,” he said.

Mr. James Fenwi, was abducted by unknown gunmen at his residence in Igwurutali community in Ikwerre LGA.
