Rev. Maurice Livinus and others who were recently abducted have been released by their captors following intensified pressure from a combined security team. The victims were freed early on February 16, 2025, after a coordinated operation involving policemen, soldiers from the Joint Task Force (JTF) in Isiokpo, and local vigilantes.
According to the Rivers State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, the victims have been reunited with their families and are receiving medical attention.
She said security agencies have launched a manhunt to apprehend the perpetrators.
