The Rivers State Chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association, has cautioned its members to be safety conscious and take appropriate security measures this period.
Secretary of the Association, Hope Owhonda gave the warning following the abduction of one of its members, Dr. Bagshaw.
Dr. Bagshaw was reportedly kidnapped at the gate of his residence, close to GTB Rumuokoro on his way back from work on Saturday Night, 11th December.
Owhonda noted that the association is currently working with security agencies to ensure the release of the kidnapped doctor.
The Association also threatened to implement protocol of shutting down health facilities over the incident.
