Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo has reacted to the rejection of 30 out of 1000 slots per local government in the Special Works Programme of the Nigerian Government allotted to each member of the House of Representatives. This according to Keyamo is because, the allotment is only a privilege and not a right.
The Minister had allotted 30 slots to the honourable members of the house which they rejected, saying the process is not transparent.
Keyamo in a statement Today said, “The question of slots to certain persons was never a question of a right or entitlement, it is just a privilege given to them to recommend persons within their constituencies.”
The recruitment of 774,000 persons in the 774 Local Government Areas in the country for public service is currently on going.
