Days after news of his exit from the Labour Party went viral, Kenneth Okonkwo has denied dumping the party stating that he remains a full-fledged member of the Labour party.
Okonkwo made this known when he appeared on Arise News on Tuesday.
According to him, he was only upset that Peter Obi failed to deal with National Chairman of the party, Mr. Abure after he disobeyed him by going ahead with a “fake convention.”
He said, “…First of all, let me say I am embarrassed by your comment. I am just hearing it from your media station that I dumped the Labour Party. And I put up the statement that I made so that I wouldn’t be misconstrued. So, where did you get that from? It’s not certainly from the statement that I made. I am still a full-fledged member of the Labour Party,”
“I am a still a full fledged member of the Labour Party. I was upset that Peter Obi did not deal with Abure after he disobeyed him by going ahead with the fake convention. I am still with the LP and ready to consolidate in the LP.
“If Peter Obi is not ready to fight these people to the point of putting his life on the line, then, he should step aside ahead of 2027.”
On the planned nationwide protest, he said, “There is a difference between resistance and rioting, I support resistance, I support protest but I do not support violence. We must have to find a way to inflate pain to those that are inflating pains to Nigerians without violence”.
