Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has disclosed that military personnel were pulled out of Government Girls Secondary School, Maga, just 45 minutes before bandits launched an attack and abducted schoolgirls.
Governor Idris made the revelation during a sympathy visit by the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Joe Ajaero. He expressed deep concern over the circumstances surrounding the withdrawal, especially as security intelligence had reportedly warned of an imminent attack.
The governor questioned who authorised the troop pullout despite the alert, describing the situation as troubling and demanding urgent investigation.
He called for heightened security measures and a thorough probe to uncover the reasons behind the withdrawal and prevent similar incidents in the future.
