Multiple Grammy award winner, international rapper and business mogul, Kanye West has revealed plans to contest the forthcoming US presidential election later in the year.
Kanye who had earlier revealed that he would be gunning for the World”s most powerful seat, at the MTV VMAs in 2015, made the recent announcement on Saturday night via his official Twitter handle.
West said, “We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States! #2020VISION.”
The announcement by the 43-year old rapper, has since been generating reactions and endorsements from Americans with the latest being Elon Musk, CEO, Space X, who tweeted, “You have my full support!”
The 2020 United States presidential election is scheduled for Tuesday, November 3, 2020. It will be the 59th quadrennial presidential election.
