Archbishop of Enugu Anglican Province, Most Rev. Emmanuel Chukwuma has alleged that Nnamdi Kanu was lured out of London by the Nigerian Intelligence Agency with a woman to Brazil, where he was arrested.
Rev. Chukwuma who disclosed this in a statement shortly after Kanu’s arrest said the way and manner he was arrested is shameful.
He noted that they had warned Kanu against going about the agitation for Biafra in a violent way but he refused to heed to their advise.
Chukwuma, explained that his arrest would bring an end to violence and killings in Igbo land, as he urged the Federal Government to try him in accordance with the laws of the land.
“He played into the hands of Nigerian Intelligence Agency, who set him up with a woman from London to Brazil where he was arrested and then, tranquilised to the point of bringing him to Nigeria,” he said.
“That shows irresponsibility. How can a woman and tranquilliser be a way of catching you if you are really a very strong leader?”
“I feel disappointed in him because they lured him out of London to Brazil with a woman. It’s a shame,” Rev Chukwuma added.
