The local vigilante personnel arrested by the Police along the Degema/Abonnema Road have been released.
Chairman of Ijaw Youth Congress, Kalabari Se Ikpangi, Asikitam Edwards made this known in a statement on Wednesday.
Sources say the men were earlier arraigned before a magistrate court in Port Harcourt over undisclosed charges.
Meanwhile, Niger Delta activist, Asari Dokubo has said that the men were from his company handling pipeline surveillance job. He stated that the men volunteered to ensure security on the road.
The Police is yet to react to the incident. Efforts to reach Police Spokesperson in the state have not been successful.
