The Rivers State Government has threatened to suspend the implementation process for financial autonomy of the Judiciary in the state. This is if the strike by the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria continues.
Wike who made this known in a statement in Port Harcourt, said the state government had started the implementation process.
Wike stated that the strike in the state is useless and should be discontinued, because the state government is not against financial autonomy of the Judiciary.
He said it is unfortunate that lawyers could not go on strike when the previous administration shutdown courts in the state, but are now embarking on strike.
Meanwhile lawyers in the state have given the Chief Judge, Adama Lamikanra 24 hours to respond to the Governors claim.
