A State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has ordered the Nigeria Police Force, to pay the sum of N50 million as compensation to the family of aspiring musician Daniel Ikeagwuchi also known as “Sleek” shot by the Police in Port Harcourt, few weeks ago.
The trial judge, Justice S.C Amadi who delivered the judgement in a fundamental human right suit brought before it by the family also declared as illegal failure of the police to arraign the killer cop.
The family had in the suit requested one billion naira as compensation.
Parents of the deceased, Mr and Mrs Ikeagwuchi and their lawyer Noble Njoku all hailed the ruling of the court, in a chat with journalists.
