The Nigeria Police Force has directed all officers assigned to Very Important Persons (VIPs) and special beats across the country to report back to their respective bases immediately.
The directive follows President Bola Tinubu’s recent order on November 23 mandating the withdrawal of police personnel from VIP security duties nationwide.
According to a memo issued by Neji Veronica, the Commanding Officer of the Special Protection Unit (SPU) Base 16 in Lagos, and shared by the Presidency on X, all affected personnel must return to base before the close of work on November 24.
The memo emphasized that the instruction takes immediate effect and requires full compliance from all concerned officers.
