Staff of the Emohua Local Government Council on Friday occupied the premises of the Local Government Service Commission (LGSC) in protest over unpaid wages.
The aggrieved workers accused the Chairman of the Council, Chidi Lloyd, of allegedly withholding the salaries of more than 300 employees.
As part of the demonstration, the protesters blocked access to the LGSC office, preventing its staff from entering their workplaces.
The protest has heightened tensions around the council, with workers insisting they will not vacate the premises until their demands are met.
