Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, says his administration is embarking on projects according to the needs of the people.
Wike, in a statement during the flag-off ceremony for the sandfilling project in Okirika on Thursday, said his administration is not just embarking on projects according to the money available.
He said his major concern as a leader is to solve the problems of Rivers people by delivering the dividends of democracy.
The governor, also stated that his administration will continue to deliver legacy projects across the state, irrespective of what critics say or do.
He also reacted to criticisms that he is embarking on massive projects in his community stating that: “I will not be a governor that will go and meet somebody in 2023 when I leave to complete my village road, no, I won’t do that. Every road in my community, I must do it now. I am not forgetting any road. Julius Berger must go back and complete all the internal roads in Rumueprikom.”
“So, when you are coming to us to campaign, don’t come and tell us that you’ll do roads for us. You have not one to do. Don’t come and lure us with roads because I am doing every roads now,” he said.
