A state high court sitting in Port Harcourt has threatened to issue a bench warrant against the state Commissioner of Police, Joseph Mukan.
This is if he fails to appear in court on Monday with one Sgt. Amanze Dike and some other officers of the State Criminal Investigative Department. The officers are alleged to have collected a huge amount of money to grant bail to some suspects arrested on allegations of murder.
The trial judge, Justice Sika Henry Aprioku gave the order in the matter brought before it by the state government against one Beatrice Ogunka and three others. She said the CP should appear in court to explain the whereabout of the police officers.
Beatrice Ogunka, one of the suspects who is reportedly on Police administrative bail, has refused to appear in court.
